Last night was our second time visiting Sully’s on the Lake BBQ in Houghton Lake. We got there at 8:28pm, (mind you they close at 9, I personally try to avoid going in any restaurant near closing because I know the staff is ready to wrap it up.) We were very hungry and we had a great experience there before, so we thankfully made it in time! We walked in and greeted with smile and a very friendly greeting. The restaurant was pretty cleared out so again I was nervous about being a nuisance. Our server had positive energy and was very friendly and attentive, the chef came out to ask us how everything was and as usual it was delicious. He was very friendly and you could tell by talking to him, passionate about what he does. It’s a great atmosphere, great service, delicious food and a breathtaking view of Houghton Lakes East Bay!
The employees are wonderful....we were greeted as soon as we walked in and our party of six was accommodated quickly. The food was fantastic. They even treated our anniversary couple to a free dessert.
My family and I decided to get dinner after putt putt on a Saturday night. There are 13 of us so we figured we would have to wait, but they got us right in and seated. They warned us they were short staffed but every single employee went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. The food was great; large portions, and reasonably priced. The quad sandwich is a highlight on the menu and all their BBQ sauces are delicious! The location is great in proximity to activities and the view of the lake isn't bad either. Check them out!
Really good nachos huge feeds 8 , pulled pork sausage combo the potatoes salad is good, excellent spinach artichoke dip highly recommended. Nice front lake restaurant. Prices are good. Service was good we decided to eat early dinner cause it is bbq lots of places run out of it, best meals in Houghton lake! Sarah and Tim great service thanks :)
They (especially the manager) truly went above & beyond for my sister’s 50th birthday dinner from the minute we walked in the door. Such a cozy & friendly feel plus the food was just as good! We all really liked our margarita flights too!
We were greeted like old friends when we walked in and Nanette didn’t disappoint the whole time. She joked with us and made us feel welcome. The waitress, April was great too! The food......OMG! It was delicious! I had the Aces High which is a French dip but way better. I highly recommend Sully’s, you will not be disappointed.
Right as you walk in you’re greeted with such a friendly welcoming face. The atmosphere is so happy & positive. Not a sad face in the room went for the famous “big mama” Bloody Mary & was highly impressed. That thing is a meal in itself!! Seriously the bacon was SO good the slider was so fresh & the shrimp topped it all will be making this a regular Sunday stop!
I was really excited to get brisket and ribs as I saw on the menu online. When we got there, it was a little confusing to figure out how to get in the restaurant since it’s attached to a motel. But once we got in there, they sat us right away (wish I would have sat facing the lake, but didn’t realize I put my kids facing the lake, darnit). We were sat really close to the bar and the woman behind the bar would not stop talking loudly the entire time we were there. It was very annoying, she was loud and kind of ruined the quiet atmosphere. Our server was terrific, attentive to our kids and us. We were there on a Saturday so they were serving brisket, but there is a sign inside that says brisket is only on Friday and Saturday. They also removed ribs from the menu, which was a bummer. But the food was delicious. My husband got the pulled pork nachos (which he said were just ok), my two sons got cheeseburger and chips they said they were good, but disappointed they were served chips and didn’t have fries), my other two littles got Mac and cheese, which they enjoyed. The brisket was more like a tender roast how it pulled apart, it wasn’t sliced. It was still delicious and I’ll be back for that. It came with texas toast, coleslaw, baked beans and cheddar potato salad. They also had a little area for coloring books and crayons for littles to take back to their table.
